Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor-details and comparison-reviews

Intel processor numbers are not a measure of performance. Processor numbers differentiate features within each processor family, not across different processor families. See for details.

Look for systems with the Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor with HT Technology logo and also including an Intel® 925X or 915 Express Chipset (see the product spec sheet or ask your salesperson). Performance and functionality will vary depending on (i) the specific hardware and software you use and (ii) the feature enabling/system configuration by your system vendor. See for information on HT Technology or consult your system vendor for more information.

± Intel® Virtualization Technology (Intel® VT), Intel® Trusted Execution Technology (Intel® TXT), and Intel® 64 architecture require a computer system with a processor, chipset, BIOS, enabling software and/or operating system, device drivers and applications designed for these features. Performance will vary depending on your configuration. Contact your vendor for more information.

° Enabling Execute Disable Bit functionality requires a PC with a processor with Execute Disable Bit capability and a supporting operating system. Check with your PC manufacturer on whether your system delivers Execute Disable Bit functionality.

Enhanced HALT State (C1E) and Enhanced Intel SpeedStep® Technology (EIST) for specified units of this processor available Q2/06. See the Processor Spec Finder at or contact your Intel representative for more information.

Connecting to other computers through windows and explanation on what are ports ??

Servers send information. Clients retrieve. Simple.
Windows comes with a built in program to connect to other computers called telnet.
To start Windows telnet Start menu> Run> type Telnet. Click connect> remote system
Ports are doors into computers. Hosts are computer names
(ip number or a name that is translated into the ip automatically)
Different programs open different ports, but they always open the same ports so other computers know which port to connect to. You can get a port list listing all the different ports, but a basic one is:
11 :- Sends info on the computer
21 :- FTP (File transfer program)
23 :- Telnet (Login to the computers command line)
25 :- Smtp (Sends mail)
80 :- Http (Web pages)
There are thousands of different programs using different ports. You can get programs called portscanners which check a computer for all ports up to a certain number, looking for ways in. You can portscan a computer looking for ways-in.
Anyway, back to telnet.
Type as the host and port as 80 the click connect.
If nothing happens, you're in. Wow. You are connected to Yahoo's server.
You can now type http commands (you are connected to an http server, so it supports http commands). Ie. on an ftp server you can type open and it will do something. On an http server it will just wonder what the hell you are on about.
Type get / http/1.0 then press enter twice to get the file on the server at / (try /index.html) etc.)

Making undeletable, unreadable folders

Tested on Windows 95/98
By holding down alt, then typing numbers on the number pad (right of the keyboard) you can create special characters. If you hold down alt, then press 1, then let go, you got the ascii character 1. You try some randomn numbers. This goes all the way up to 255. Open a dos prompt, and type md (alt+1+9+4)someword. md is the dos command to make a directoy, now try and open the directory in Windows, you can't. To open it, type ren (alt+1+9+4)someword someword (ren is the dos command to rename)

Allowing dos and regedit in a restricted Windows

See for some very cool tactics.
A very simple tactic I found after accidentally locking myself out of dos and regedit is to open notepad and type the following:

Save it as something.reg then run it. Simple.

Securing your website

Ftp Ftp is how you upload your web site, if somone finds out the password they can add/ delete anything. Brute forcing is the most common ftp attack, where a program guesses every possible combination (or from a list of words). An eight letter alpha-numeric word is almost impossible to crack, as the process is slow.
The real problem is with server side scripting. Pages other than plain html (ie. pages that perform commands on the host) are a security risk. The main problems are scripts that write to pages (guestbooks etc.). If when the guestbok is viewed it has a .shtml extension, then it can execute commands. Eg. a malicious visitor could place the following shtml command in a messege:

Password files

If you lock yourself out of Windows stuff, all passwords are stored in files called *.pwl in C:windows. Download from hereto view all passwords stored. Or rename the files to .bak to delete passwords.

In Unix, passwords are normally stored at etc/passwd. This can be viewed using the cat command (prints a file to screen): cat etc/passwd. Make sure you're passwords are shadowed (not actually in etc/passwd). Also make sure they aren't in a file called shadow, especically not in a file called etc/shadow.
Unix passwords are encrypted far better than Windows one's (to be fair, Windows 95 isn't designed for users), but can still be cracked through a program called jon. See here.

Increase internet bandwidth(speed) by tweaking QoS in Windows XP

The following tweak applies only to Windows XP Professional edition.

The default system behavior is that all 100% bandwidth is available, however, if there is a running application that indicates to the OS it needs to send high priority/real time data, then as long as it has the socket open, Windows XP will restrict “best effort” traffic to 80% of the bandwidth so that high priority traffic can be accommodated. Basically, applications can make this request to the operating system for QoS support using the QoS application programming interfaces (APIs) in Windows and this only applies if a specific app is requesting QoS. If you'd like to change how much bandwidth is reserved for QoS (the default is 20% of the total bandwidth), do the following:

1. Make sure you're logged in as "Administrator" (not just any account with admin privileges).
2. Navigate to START>Run and type: gpedit.msc
3. Navigate to Local Computer Policy > Administrative Templates > Network > QOS Packet Scheduler
4. In the right window, double-click the limit reservable bandwidth setting
5. On the setting tab, check the enabled setting.
6. Where it says "Bandwidth limit %", change it to read 0 (or whatever percentage you want to reserve for high priority QoS data)
7. Click OK, close gpedit.msc

Under START > My Computer > My Network Connections > View Network Connections, right-click on your connection and under Properties (where it lists your protocols), make sure QOS Packet Scheduler is enabled.

The tweak desribed below helps boost priority for DNS & hostname resolution in general. What this means is, it helps web pages load faster, and has negligible effect on downloads (not counting the couple of ms gain with the host resolution at connect-time).

Applying this tweak assumes some proficiency in editing the Windows Registry using Regedit (Start > Run > type: regedit). As always, backup your Registry before making any changes so you can revert to the previous state if you don't like the results.

2nd method

follow the step:-

go to desktop->My computer-(right click on)->properties->then go HARDWARE tab->Device manager-> now u see a window of Device manager
then go to Ports->Communication Port(double click on it and Open).
after open u can see a Communication Port properties.
go the Port Setting:----
and now increase ur "Bits per second" to 128000.
and "Flow control" change 2 Hardware.

apply and see the result
and please comment me.........

another method

Type this coding in notepad and save as .reg and then execute this file....this will increase ur surfing n downloading speed

Television first came to India [named as ‘Doordarshan’ (DD) on Sept 15, 1959 as the National Television Network of India. The first telecast started on Sept 15, 1959 in New Delhi. After a gap of about 13 years, s second television station was established in Mumbai (Maharashtra) in 1972 and by 1975 there were five more television stations at Srinagar (Kashmir), Amritsar (Punjab), Calcutta (West Bengal), Madras (Tamil Nadu) and Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh). For many years the transmission was mainly in black & white.

In 1992, the government liberated its markets, opening them up to cable television. Five new channels belonging to the Hong Kong based STAR TV gave Indians a fresh breath of life. MTV, STAR Plus, BBC, Prime Sports and STAR Chinese Channel were the 5 channels. Zee TV was the first private owned Indian channel to broadcast over cable. A few years later CNN, Discovery Channel, National Geographic Channel made its foray into India. Star expanded its bouquet introducing STAR World, STAR Sports, ESPN and STAR Gold.

And now India has about couple hundred channels. But I think the mostly viewed channels are Zee, Sony, Star channels. Most of those who live in India don't care whether they can watch the Indian Television channels online or not but for those who live outside India really strives to watch these Indian channels. I have seen lot of people searching for "free indian channels online" or how to watch indian channels online or if I want to watch zee cinema online or zee tv online or Tamil TV watch online where to go?

So here I am trying to compile the list of sites where you can watch these channels online.

* : The site called "Live from Bangladesh". The site has list of all the famous Indian channels that you can watch online. Zee TV, Sony TV, Star One, Star Plus, Zee Cinema etc. The site doesn't require you to register. All you need is Windows Media Player 10, Real Player, VLC Media Player installed on your machine. You must be aware of Windows Media Player and Real Player. You can get VLC media player free, just google it and you will find it. Once you go to the website, you will see list of channels on the left. Click on the channel you want to see and you would see the screen with username and password information. The popup box will ask you to enter that information and you should be all set. Watch Zee Cinema Online, Watch Zee TV online, Watch Sony TV Online and enjoy.
* This site used to require registration but they have changed their layout and now its just simple page with list of channels URLs. Click on the channel and a popup window will open up. Same list of channels are available here. Less than what you get from the previous site. Few sites have voice issue. The voice and video moves in fast forward motion makes it sound funny. For e.g. Sony TV & Star One.
* I don't believe this site has online channels but you can watch videos clippings from these Indian Channels. This site requires registration.
* : This site has only 5-6 channels but the quality is good and doesn't have annoying ads. It has Zee, Sony, Sony Max, Star Plus, Aaj Tak, IBN Live, Star One. I would rank this site as 2nd after Watch Star Plus Online.
* Beware of this website. It does provide all these channels but has lot of popup ads and could have spywares. I would go to this site as a last option.
* Music 'n Movies is based on free media Meta-crawler, which searches on the media file hosting servers for free bollywood movies , indexes them and present them in well format on this portal.
* :Check out a free new live internet tv service called - an excellent website that allows you to watch internet TV from all over the world, they even let you create your own personal page and have tons of features, like search, countries, genres, multi-lingual descriptions, channel bitrate quality monitoring, rss feeds for blogs, full screen, mini screen options !! everyone's watching
* :Its another site to watch tv online
* World Wide Internet Television: Also known as, is a nice site with over 1000 listings of TV channels that you can use to watch TV online for free. While I haven't counted the languages or countries represented there seem to be quite a few ! This is a site I visit often when I want to watch something in Spanish, followed by something in Hindi. The site requires Real Player and is very easy to use and navigate.
* :StreamBox is a web-streaming portal that live-streams Indian TV channels through the internet. Just like how TV channels are telecasted through cable or dish, StreamBox telecasts Indian TV channels through the internet.
* a blog which offers you many indian channels.

Nestling in the foothills of the Alps is Europe's largest laboratory, the European Centre for Nuclear Research, or Cern.

The LHC has been in construction for some 13 years

A 27km chain of magnets is part of the experiment

With its vast labyrinth of tunnels and equipment stretching for miles, the complex has the feel of a cathedral to science.

And now the scientists here have embarked on their biggest experiment ever, the hunt for a particle which gave the universe its form.

Its scientific name is the Higgs Boson, but because it is so fundamental in shaping the universe, others have called it the God particle.

It is a particle that is supposed to endow other fundamental particles with mass. Without it there would be no gravity, no universe as we know it - no "let there be light" moment.

No-one has seen it, but physicists have invoked it because it is the simplest explanation for how the universe evolved.

Spark of divinity

Most physicists are instinctively drawn towards theories with a simple elegance.

Reverend Sir John Polkinghorne used to be a theoretical physicist and worked with Professor Peter Higgs, after whom the God particle was named.

Professor Polkinghorne went on to become an Anglican priest. He believes the equations which describe the way sub-atomic particles interact contain a natural beauty in which some find a spark of divinity. Cern magnet (M. Brice/Cern)

He said: "Physicists are deeply impressed with the order of the world. It is rationally beautiful and structured, and the feeling that there is a mind behind it is a very natural feeling to have."

It is not the first time that a scientific study of the universe has inspired awe and wonder.

I think the feeling of wonder, which is very fundamental to the experience of fundamentally a religious experience, whether people recognise it as such or not
Professor Polkinghorne

The crew of Apollo 8 were so moved by their experience, they felt moved to read passages from the Book of Genesis as they orbited the moon on Christmas Eve in 1968.

US physicists Richard Feynman and George Smoot both described their Nobel Prize-winning insights into the behaviour of subatomic particles and the detection of the Cosmic Background Radiation as looking "unto the face of God".

Professor Polkinghorne understands why such glimpses into the underlying reality of the universe can provoke such reactions.

He said: "I think the feeling of wonder, which is very fundamental to the experience of physicists - they way they see structure in the world - is fundamentally a religious experience, whether people recognise it as such or not.

CMS (Cern/M. Hoch)"And I think it is actually a tacit, sometimes explicit, worship of the creator."

Many of the physicists here are not religious and would disagree with Professor Polkinghorne's view.

For them their buzz is an intellectual rather than religious one.

Explain gravity

And although the hunt for the Higgs Boson is one of the big hopes for the Large Hadron Collider, the real prize will be to roll back the frontiers of physics.

The Standard Model that has explained the behaviour of sub-atomic particles so well seems to have hit a wall.

The equations that were becoming ever more elegant tying together the fundamental forces of nature have become messy in attempting to explain gravity.

Observations by cosmologists, such as the amount of matter in the universe, cannot be explained by current theory.

Theoretical physics is bracing itself for a revolution. The results from the LHC will help scientists glimpse what lies beyond the standard model.

Scientific study is often mundane but can occasionally slip into the ecstatic.

No more so than for those working at the Large Hadron Collider.

Many of the people involved have been working painstakingly for years, developing the code, engineering the parts and putting the pieces together.

The excitement among physicists at Cern has been palpable.

It will not be long before the experiments that will change our view of the universe can begin.

They have fired a beam of particles called protons around the 27km-long tunnel which houses the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).

The £5bn machine on the Swiss-French border is designed to smash particles together with cataclysmic force.

Scientists hope it will shed light on fundamental questions in physics.

The beam completed its first circuit of the underground tunnel at just before 0930 BST.

"There it is," project leader Lyn Evans said when the beam completed its lap. There were cheers in the control room when engineers heard of the successful test.

He added later: "We had a very good start-up."

The LHC is arguably the most complicated and ambitious experiment ever built; the project has been hit by cost overruns, equipment trouble and construction problems. The switch-on itself is two years late.

We will be looking at what the Universe was made of billionths of a second after the Big Bang
Dr Tara Shears, University of Liverpool

The collider is operated by the European Organization for Nuclear Research - better known by its French acronym Cern.

Hide files using Winrar and an JPG image

By using this trick, you can hide your files in a rar file, but it looks like a picture.

For this you need Winrar and a Picture to show instead the hidden file.

1. Make a New Folder in any one drive, rename it to HIDDEN (you can put name of your wish).
Let it be in C drive, so that its address is C:\HIDDEN\

2. Copy all your secret files to that folder.
Select all the files.
Right click and select "Add to HIDDEN.rar" , here HIDDEN is the name that you gave to that folder created in first step.

3. Delete all files, except the created HIDDEN.rar file.

4. Copy an image to that folder. Let its name be taken as pic.jpg. This picture is used to hide the Winrar file that we made.

5. Now open Command Prompt. (Start > Run > cmd )

6. Change the prompt to C:\HIDDEN\ .
To do that, in cmd, first type cd c:\HIDDEN\ (works only if that folder is in windows (C:) drive).
If that folder is created in other drive like D:, then firts type D: ad press enter, then type cd D:\HIDDEN\.

7. Now type the following:
COPY /b pic.jpg + hidden.rar picture.jpg

8. That creates a picture that looks same as pic.jpg in HIDDEN folder.
This picture.jpg contains all your files.

To get your rar file, just change the extension .jpg of picture.jpg to .rar , and open it.
To hide, change the extension back to .jpg .

Steps: (download the registry file)

1. This step is very important.
Export (right click > Export) the following keys and save it to a safer place.

HKEY CURRENT USER\Control Panel\Desktop

2. Open Notepad, copy and paste the following to the Notepad.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]

3. Save the file and close Notepad.

4. Change extension of the file from .txt (text file) to .reg (registry file).

5. Double click open this file and click Yes and then OK

chek out now you cam fimd your system is turning off very faster than before
